Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a wax melt?

Wax melts are completely wick-less scented pieces of wax that are melted in a warmer. The warmer heats and melts the solid wax. As the wax melts, it fills up the area with scent.

  • How long will a wax melt last?

Wax melts typically keep their aroma for longer than candles, with one cube lasting anywhere from 5-10 hours. Personally I use 2 cubes at a time and would use the 4 hour tealights. I would use the same 2 cubes until I feel I can no longer smell the scent.

  • What is better, tealight burner or electric warmer?

This is all down to personal preference. Tea light burners get a lot hotter than the electric burners so therefore give a stronger scent throw.  Electric burners don't get as hot as tea light burners so in comparison they don't give off as strong a scent, but the upside is that the fragrance doesn't burn off as quickly resulting in each wax melt lasting longer.

  • What is the best way to remove my used wax from my burner?

Again, this is personal preference.  We have found the easiest way is to light a new tea light under the old wax and let it burn for approximately 30 seconds. Hold your wax burner steady and you should be able to slide out the old wax. If there is any old residue give it a quick wipe and pop in your new wax.

Another method we sometimes use is to simply use some cotton wool balls to soak up the old wax once it has melted again.
